Monte Montgomery constantly strives to be a better musician

Liberty Hall is pleased to announce the return of blues guitarist, Monte Montgomery on October 18 at 8 p.m.

Montgomery is well known around East Texas and was named one of the “Top 50 All-Time Greatest Guitar Players” by Guitar Player Magazine in 2004; he’s been called everything from “guitar-god” to the “answer to the Fermi Paradox”.

“I’ve resisted temptation to be just that guitar gunslinger from Austin, Texas,” said Montgomery. “I strive to have more depth, to be more layered as an artist, songwriter and singer.”

Opening for Montgomery will be Chant Deplantier. Surrounded by music as far back as he can remember, Deplantier began a successful musical partnership after teaming up with bass player Jerry Smith, Jr., in a duo that has done them both well.

Deplantier says, “I’m blessed to make music every day with people whose talent is only exceeded by their character and professionalism.” Liberty Hall Manager Anne Payne said “Chant and Jerry Smith, Jr. are both amazing musicians who I have admired and enjoyed for several years.”

Tickets are on sale now at www.LibertyTyler.com for $18 online and $25 at the door. Follow Liberty Hall on Facebook and Twitter too.
